Traveling with children in Vienna
My name is Sabrina Hamdy and I was recently warmly welcomed into the Austria Classic Hotel Wien family. I am not only a mother, but also an entertainer for my two children. That's why we plan a new trip every weekend.
Children in the museum
Some time ago we visited the impressive and fascinating Natural History Museum. My children loved the 3D dinosaur show. Since my kids are big dinosaur fans, it was difficult to get them away from it. However, there were many interesting things to see. The prices are really attractive and the presentation is excellently designed for children and offers content for every age group. The best way to avoid having to stay at home in bad weather. It is highly recommended and there is always something for young and old. The Natural History Museum (NHM for short) is a research museum with over 270 years of history, which emerged from the imperial collections of the 18th century. Dedicated to “the kingdom of nature and its exploration,” the building is a feast for the eyes from the outside. It is located opposite the Art History Museum and, apart from small details, it is identical to this “twin”. Changing exhibitions explain nature and show thousands of exhibits.
Coffee house in Vienna
If you are hungry after viewing many beautiful works of art, you can visit the well-known old Viennese Cafe Landmann in just a few minutes. There is not only a delicious Einspänner (which is a coffee specialty), but also a large selection of delicious sweets. The children loved the apple strudel that was offered there.
Oberlaa thermal baths
After we had strengthened ourselves sufficiently, we went to the Oberlaa thermal baths. The journey there turned out to be good as you are supposed to wait at least 45 minutes after eating. From the hotel you simply get on the U1 and go to the last stop. It only takes 25 minutes! There is a large children's area with enormous slides. Which child would say no to that? Whether during the warm or cold seasons, the Therme Oberlaa is the perfect opportunity for relaxation and activity. If you're hungry after swimming, you can enjoy seasonal dishes in the restaurant in the thermal baths. The Thermen Burger is particularly delicious. We received excellent care throughout the day, had fun and discovered many interesting things. After a tiring day in Vienna, we treated ourselves to a cake from the Oberlaa pastry shop, which is located right next to the entrance to the thermal baths. As a mom, I recommend the NHM and the Therme Oberlaa to every family with children. Your children will have a lot of fun!
Kind regards
Sabrina
