September 22nd to October 9th – Wiener Wiesn Fest
Within 5 minutes walking distance from our hotel you will reach „Wiener Wiesn Fest“ – the Viennese version of famous „Oktoberfest“ in Munich. People dress up in their traditional clothes and come together in big tents to have a good time with friends. Of course good austrian beer and a good meal will make the evening even better! Sadly the official website of this event offers no English version, but of course we can help you getting all information you need or buying tickets online!
September 23rd 2016 – Lotto Days in Technical Museum Vienna
If you visit Technical Museum Vienna on September 23rd, 2016 and show a lottery ticket or a scratch card of Austrian Lotteries,you will receive free entry! Find more information on this website (german article).
September 25th 2016 – Monuments Day – “Tag des Denkmals”
In whole Austria a lot of public houses will open their doors on September 23rd. Especially in Vienna we do recommend this day to our guests as you can explore a lot of culture for free. Many famous buildings like“Burgtheater”, “Hofburg” as well as “Art History Museum” or “Museum of Military History”welcome you. If you are fast enough, you can also make a “HOP ON HOP OFF Vienna Sightseeing Tour”with the red line starting at “Staatsoper” – as the first 500 people saying code-word “Denkmal” (“monument”) when ordering a ticket, will receive it for free. October 1st 2016 – Long night of museums
If you are interested in culture and love visiting museums, you have to participate at the “Long Night of Museums” on October 1st in whole Austria. Especially Vienna offers a lot of museums and cultural highlights that open their doors between 6 p.m. and 1 a.m..
The price for a ticket to visit as many museums as you want is 15 euro – this ticket is also a valid ticket for the public transport services. Visit the website to read through the whole program and all participating museums in Vienna.
October 1st and 2nd 2016 – Viennese Wine Hiking Days
Starting from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on October 1st, lots of people will hike over the wine hills of Vienna. Starting at Neustift to Nussdorf and from Strebersdorf to Stammersdorf, a 25 kilometer long route will pass many winemakers that will offer their regional products to you. Discover beautiful Vienna and its wine during hiking! The whole program is listed here – but as so often just in german – if you are interested, just ask us for help!
October 1st and 2nd 2016 – “Stürmische Tage”
In Stammersdorf – a region in the northern part of Vienna – winemakers come together on that weekend to present their “Sturm”to all guests. “Sturm” is the german name for a sweet, alcoholic drink – a grape juice during fermentation. In a long street in the middle of the wine hills, you will be entertained with regional food and good music. Visit the facebook site for more information (german).
