Sustainability is not just lip service, but lived practice. We rely on comprehensive measures to minimise our ecological footprint:

- Waste separation: we separate glass, metal, large foils, plastic, Tetra-Pak and paper.
- Packaging: We largely avoid individually packaged food at breakfast. We only offer Nutella, honey, jam etc. in large jars.
- Local suppliers: Wherever possible, we favour local producers. We buy our bread and pastries from Ungersbäck,
  and when it comes to fruit, we make sure we use Austrian produce. Of course, we have to make compromises with bananas and oranges,
  as these do not grow in this country. You can find more information about our organic food on our website under breakfast.
- Laundry: Our laundry Flott is a traditional Viennese company with short transport routes, which are covered by electric delivery vans.
- Cleaning: We work with soaked microfibre cloths to avoid overdosing on cleaning agents.
- Washing machines: Our dosing systems prevent overdosing of detergents.
- Light bulbs: We have replaced all light bulbs with LED bulbs.
- Charging stations for electric vehicles: We offer two Tesla charging stations in our hotel car park in the inner courtyard.
- Saving resources: By using GREEN CARE PROFESSIONAL products from Werner & Mertz, we were able to achieve
  the following savings:  69 kg crude oil, 5 kg plastic and 216 kg carbon dioxide
- Paperless office: Our internal accounting department is now largely paperless.

These efforts have now been recognised with the Ecolabel - an award that stands for the highest ecological and social standards.

The event was an inspiring gathering of a total of 35 tourism businesses that have also been awarded the Ecolabel. In her speech, Minister Gewessler emphasised how important sustainable tourism is for the future of our country and encouraged us to continue to be role models in the industry. I would like to dedicate this award to all those who take large and small steps towards greater sustainability in their everyday lives - be it by separating waste, saving energy or consciously choosing regional products. Every contribution counts!

A big thank you to my entire team, especially to our manager Ingeborg (who has been part of the hotel for nearly 37 years), as well as our team leaders Ramira, Sabrina, Nataliia and Ali and everyone (including our guests) who live our vision of a sustainable hotel every day. We look forward to implementing even more measures in the coming years - and thus making a contribution to our environment and our guests.
